Seebold Eagle 265

Our Seebold Eagle 265 was one of the fastest- if not the fastest- boats on Biscayne Bay the day of our test, and it managed that feat with just a single MerCruiser. Ok, so it just happened to be the supercharged HP 525SC powerboat MerCruiser.

The Eagle’s 22-degree modified deep-V hull, using end-grain balsa coring, is cured in the mold for three days while all structural and modular components are glassed in. The deck of Seebold Eagle boat is then joined to the hull and also completely glassed and bonded, creating a “unibody” that Billy Seebold says will never change shape.

Beautiful and practical design of Seebold Eagle 265

The day cruiser Seebold uses McLeod drop-out bolster seats, a non-skid kick plate/footrest, a leather-wrapped CRT wheel, amd perfectly placed Kiekhaefer Zero Effort controls. Steering and trim in that boat are made easier with individual controls for drive and tab trimming.

Two override switches on the wheel allow you to trim both tabs at once and the outdrive. Thus, there’s no fumbling with toggle switches on the dash. Stern drive and trim tab switches are also on the powerboat panel to allow you to work the tabs individually and lift the drive for beaching or trailering.

The power and speed of the boat for sale Eagle 265 you can dream of

Another option on the boat- one we didn’t use- was “Auto Trim,” invented and patented by Bill’s son Tim. It automatically adjust trim tabs as the boat accelerates.

The Seebold Eagle 265 is undeniably upscale. You’ll find a pull-out Kenwood cassette stereo, Gaffrig speedometer; padded, mirrored engine hatch/sunpad; and full instrumentation.

The drop-out bolster driver’s seat provides plenty of support and comfort- importand in a fast powerboat.

Inside the cabin is a full V-berth, a couple of jump seats, and stowage cabinets. Seebold Eagle 265 can also accommodate wishes for a less Spartan interior. Still, the area is quite adequate for an adventurous weekend getaway, and perfect for napping away from the elements.

The real pleasure in this day cruiser boat motor is in her running. Hit the throttle and you’re on plane instantly. At 50 or 60 mph, with tabs up and drive trimmed out, you can feel her lift and ride on her pad.
