Engine performance in Glasstream 180 SE day cruiser boat
The boat engine hatch doubles as a spacious, comfortable sunpad, which opens to ex-pose the MerCruiser. On either side there’s enough space to store heat-tolerant gear like fenders and lines. Access around and under the engine is good. To help abate noise, the underside of the hatch is padded and carpeted.
In front of the Glasstream 180 SE engine hatch, a full-width benchseat provides seating for two. Sideboards have deep, carpet-protected inwales with built-in drink holders, great for stowing towels and clothing. Driver and companion the 180 SE have low-slung, deep bucket-type seats.
The companion side has a small but sturdy rail, a locking glove box, and an AM/FM cassette radio. The driver’s side has a full array of instruments with toggle switches and fuses for ships’s systems to port of the tilt wheel.
The driver of this Glasstream has plenty of room to stretch his legs beneath the dash. The bucket-style seat are colour-coordinated vinyl.

The windshield is reinforced with heavy-duty posts and adjustable braces to keep it tight if it loosens up. The walk-through space is well padded on both sides and permits ample access to the bow.
Seat cushions/stowage compartment hatches in the bow section are hinged and have one particularly thoughtful touch. The underside where the foam padding and nylon attach to the plywood have vents to allow air to escape when someone sits down.
Performance of powerboats is the word on the Glasstream 180 SE, and if you’re looking to go fast without big fuel bills, this is it. To sum up, at 38mph she burned fewer than nine gallons per hour. If you get your hands on the 180 get ready for blast-off. She is a pocket rocket.
